It is not a direct swap, you book when you require accommodation and offer what is available at the time of the request, you should only take a future dated booking in low season, or if you are trying to accumulate credits. Please remember that it is only if and when you have empty beds available, that you would offer them to other accommodation owners. You need only have one room available for exchange so people who have a second home may also join. Many people offer family accommodation also chalets and Bungalows sometimes sleeping 4 to 6 people, this would still equate to one room night! Bank a Bed offers an excellent Owner Control Website, where you log in your own details and four pictures and keep a record of your own transactions……. The system is very user friendly, but highly sophisticated, as it debits and credits, according to star rating, keeps a record of all of your transactions e.g. who booked with who and for how long and gives you your own current ' bank account ‘. It will tell you whether you have sufficient points or insufficient points to make a booking! The grading system allows for a 5 star establishment to receive equal value to its status. They would get double the time if they stayed at a three star establishment. A 3 star establishment would get half the time in a 5 Star establishment. The programme automatically calculates it. All B&B's need to be between 3 and 5 Star. If in doubt call in the Tourism Grading people for an opinion. We’re all in the Accommodation business and know what the requirements are for the different standards, and so would the other members! What every member needs is to judge their property fairly and then to have a website where we can view their property. Their website can be included with other websites i.e. on a general site.
